Iconic bookstore, Vromans, presents a fun and inventive way to explore Pasadena by hosting its first ever “Where’s Waldo” contest. Visit 10 out of the 17 businesses listed, find Waldo, receive a special “I found Waldo” card, and bring them back to Vromans for a special button and be entered in a contest for a variety of prizes. When I say find Waldo, you actually have to find Waldo (a 2-3” cardboard one) who is hidden somewhere in the store. Some larger stores have more freedom and Waldo can be hidden anywhere. Smaller stores (and bakeries) have hidden theres in plain sight at the cash register, I assume to prevent you from digging through their cupcakes.
Still confused? Here are 4 easy steps:
1) Stop by Vromans to pick up a list of participating businesses, or download the list from the website.
2) Visit at least 10 of the stores, bakeries, play centers, or coffee shops on the list. If you are unfamiliar with Pasadena be sure to plan your route beforehand. You can’t walk down Colorado Blvd. and hit up all 10 stores at once. The businesses are scattered through the Old Town, South and East Pasadena areas so try to group them together if you can.
3) Find Waldo. Once you find him, let someone at the store know. They will present you with an “I Found Waldo” card that lists the name of the company.
4) Collect 10 cards. Bring those cards to Vromans and collect an “I Found Waldo” button and be entered into a drawing! The “Where’s Waldo” drawing will take place at the party on July 30th at 4pm.
