UC Riverside Director of Cross Country/Track & Field Irv Ray announced the Highlanders men’s and women’s 2012 cross country schedules. (Complete Men’s Schedule / Complete Women’s Schedule).
The Highlanders open the season as they’ve done for the past few years at the Nevada Twilight Invitational. The 7:00 pm race is set for August 31 in Reno, NV.
UCR hosts its annual UC Riverside Invitational on Saturday, September 15 at the Ag/Ops Course in Riverside. The women’s 6000m invitational begins at 7:30 am with the men’s 8000m invitational following at 8:05 am. The women’s 5000m collegiate open is scheduled for 8:45 am with the men’s 8000m collegiate open slated for 9:15 am. (Information Sheet).
Both cross country teams then travel to the Dellinger Invitational in Eugene, OR on September 29, before hosting the Highlander Invitational at the UCR Ag/Ops Course on October 13. The women’s race is slated for 8:00 am with the men’s set to begin at 8:45 am.
For the fifth time in as many years, and for the eighth time since the Highlanders joined the Big West Conference in 2001, UC Riverside’s Ag/Ops Course will play host to the Big West Cross Country Championships on October 27. The women’s race is set for 8:45 am, with the men’s race following at 9:30 am.
The NCAA West Regional Championship takes place on November 10 at 11:00 am in Seattle, WA, with the NCAA National Championship on November 19 in Louisville, KY.
