Third Eye Blind
It’s the 28th summer the festival has been held, and it’s sure to impress those who make the trip to Southwest Riverside County. More than 20 wineries will offer wine tasting, and this year’s entertainment includes Third Eye Blind on Saturday evening and Dennis DeYoung, founding member of the rock band Styx, playing the group’s music on Friday evening.
While glowing balloons will create an eye pleaser in the evenings, hot air balloons will also create some good sights in the early morning hours. On Saturday and Sunday mornings, numerous balloons are set to take off and rise into the blue sky, dotting the skies with a wide range of colors and creating a picturesque skyline. You’ll have to wake up early to enjoy the show – the balloons take off between 6 and 7 a.m. – as the balloons need the cool morning air to make their ascension.
The Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival is surely one of the Inland Empire’s – and Southern California’s – most unique events, appealing to hot air balloon enthusiasts from around the region. And if you’re a wine lover, you’ll have a great time, too, with wineries from throughout the Temecula Valley showcasing their wines and a wealth of culinary delights available to complement them.
The festival is also affordable, with ticket prices going no higher than $25 a day. Along with a Kids Faire section, June 3-5 at Lake Skinner is sure to provide fun for the entire family.
