System of a Down – Verizon Wireless Amphitheater – May 25, 2011

System of a Down added a tour date just down the tollways from Corona at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater (formerly Irvine Meadows). One of the largest venues in Southern California, this outdoor theatre will be host to System on May 25, 2011 due to popular demand for their Los Angeles Forum show on May 24. Tickets go on sale Thursday, March 24 at 10 a.m.- just use the KROQ Street Team pre-sale that is mailed to everone on the Street Team email list.

system-of-a-downWhile this tour will be taking the band around the world, their roots are based right here in Southern California. From 1994 to 2006, the band churned out numerous hits on rock stations throughout the world on albums including System of a Down (1998), Toxicity (2001), Steal This Album! (2002), Mezmerize (2005) and Hypnotize (2005). The darlings of LA’s KROQ and the Inland Empire’s x1039, they went on hiatus since 2006, coming together in 2011 just for this reunion tour.
