If you like beer and airplanes, then you’re going to love the Props and Hops festival! To be honest, if you love either beer or planes separately then you’re still going to love this event. And if we’re being really honest, if you like kittens and heavy artillery you’re still going to enjoy this event.
Media personality, event producer and “Minister of Culinary Awareness,” Cliff Young of Out To Eat , a television show airing on KVCR-PBS (Channel 24) Television, is bringing together dozens of his personally taste-tested and hand-selected favorite craft beer breweries for the 1 st (ever) “Props & Hops” Craft Beer Conclave Saturday, November 10, 2012 from 12-5 at the Palm Springs Air Museum in Palm Springs, CA.
The event also features some of Cliff’s favorite gourmet food trucks serving up fare specifically selected to pair well with craft beer. Live music and DJ’s will be on hand and brewery merchandise will be available for sale. Get your kettles bubbling! A “Sanctioned” Homebrew Competition is also scheduled and there will be home brewing demos throughout the day. Homebrew submissions can be dropped off beginning October 1, 2012 (locations are on the website). Deadline for submissions is October 31, 2012. Check the website for updates and more details. “Props & Hops” Craft Beer Conclave .
Tickets are $30 for general admission, which includes a souvenir glass and 8 beer tastings tickets (additional tickets are available for a nominal cost). A limited number of VIP passes are available for $75. The VIP package includes a souvenir glass, early admission into the event (11am instead of 12pm.). VIP guests also eat for free from the Gourmet Food Trucks. The VIP Area will be stocked with extra food items, free water & soda plus Swag! (What’s an event without SWAG!), the VIP area will also offer tables and chairs.
Cliff Young is once again partnering with a local non-profit group and all beer proceeds from the “Props & Hops” Craft Beer Conclave will benefit the Palm Springs Air Museum. The Palm Springs Air Museum is a non-profit educational institution whose mission is to exhibit, educate and honor World War II combat aircraft and the role the pilots and American citizens had in achieving this great victory.
In addition to flying aircraft, related artifacts, artwork, and library sources are used to perpetuate American history. The Palm Springs Air Museum contains approximately 70,000 sq. ft. of interior display space, environmentally controlled within three large display hangars. The institution is on a ten acre site that includes visitor parking, ramp access to the Palm Springs International Airport for visiting display aircraft, exterior displays, and an aircraft ramp for special shows and flight demonstration viewing.
“We encourage the general public and craft beer aficionados and home brew enthusiasts to join us on Saturday November 10, 2012 because supporting a great cause is the real reason we’re hosting this event. Bringing together the crème de la crème of craft beers and specifically paired food truck cuisine, along with great music and a Homebrew contest just makes for an all-around great day!”
