New Tourism Council Promotes Entertainment to the Inland Empire

Comedian Darren Carter

Nearly 300 professionals in the tourism and hospitality industries with interests in the Inland Empire met on August 9, 2012 at the invitation of the Inland Empire Tourism Council. The Inland Empire Tourism Board was formed in 1988 and gets stronger with each passing year. This summit was mc-ed by the hysterically funny, Fontana born Comedy Central regular Darren Carter. Amidst the levity of the half-day event was a strong message that tourism bring jobs, and our inland region needs to continue to work together to create a welcoming message to attract visitors.

Lynn Carpenter, Vice President of Marketing for Visit California spoke about how for one American job is created for every 35 international tourists. For every 90 tourists, a job is created in CA. Visit California is the organization responsible for the California tourist commercials featuring Betty White, Rob Lowe, and beautiful spots (including Temecula) throughout CA.

Visit California aims to get tourists to enjoy CA, whether it be San Francisco, Los Angeles, Ontario, or Temecula.   Any tourist destination or hospitality business can register one’s own business at industry.visitcalifornia.com to be a part of their state, regional, a international marketing. Brand USA even matches funds if one’s business is doing international marketing.  Go to visitcalifornia.com for more information about the statistics on tourism and job creation
