Actor Gary Sinise –who once played the character of “Lt. Dan” who lost both of his legs in battle in Forrest Gump- will perform with Sinise, and his “Lt. Dan Band” in a concert at the Temecula Town Square City Plaza.
The “Lt. Dan Benefit Concert” will take place on Thursday, March 1. Tickets go on sale Jan. 11 at the Old Town Temecula Community Theater, 42051 Main St, by going to the website www.TemeculaTheater.org, or by calling (866)653-8696. Ticket prices will range from $35 and range up to $150 for VIP seating. Monetary donations towards building the Juan Dominguez Home will also be accepted through the Tunnel to Towers Foundation (718) 987-1931. Donations made through the Foundation are 100% tax deductible.
Money raised from ticket sales will go to build a “smart home” for 27-year-old Cpl. Juan Dominguez, who became a triple amputee as a result of injuries sustained in Afghanistan. He has chosen Temecula as the city where he wants to live with his 9-year-old daughter Victoria. His “smart home” is specially designed to be equipped with every state-of-the-art feature possible, to allow him to live independently.
In 2011, The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation and the Gary Sinise Foundation partnered in efforts to build Smart Homes for 3 Quadruple Amputees. In 2012 they have partnered on 9 additional homes for very severely wounded warriors from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. To date they have completed one home for SPC. Brendan Marrocco on June 11, 2011, in Staten Island, NY, and broke ground on October 26, at Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, for CPL. Todd Nicely’s smart home. This year they will start raising funds for homes in Brooklyn, NY, Albany, NY, Ararat, VA, Columbia, MO, Atlanta, GA, Marrietta, OH, and Whitehall, PA.
The concert is a key part of the joint fundraising effort by The Gary Sinise Foundation and the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation (named in honor of the firefighter who perished on 9/11 and chaired by former NY Mayor Rudolph Giuliani) to give Dominguez his wish.

This concert will give us the opportunity to honor Juan’s heroism by raising funds to build a special home that will help to enable him to lead the best life possible with his daughter.”

· Marine Cpl. Juan Dominguez lost both legs and his right arm on Oct. 23, 2010 when he slipped down a small embankment and landed on a buried 30-40 lb. bomb in Afghanistan.
· During his recuperation, he has undergone 23 surgeries, and spent five months in the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD and Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington DC.
· He is presently an out-patient at the U.S. Naval Medical Center in San Diego.
