Located in downtown Las Vegas (about 5 miles north of the center strip), Golden Nugget is perhaps the best kept secret for the young, frugal, and outgoing, though one prominent reviewer has noticed this youthful trend.
With rooms on a weekend often coming in under $100, you’ll wonder how this hotel has managed to become a hot spot for some of the coolest rooftop pools, swankiest bars and friendliest guests in Vegas. If you’ve never been to downtown Las Vegas on Fremont Street, the light show and other attractions provide some entertainment. The limits on tables and slot machines can be much lower on Fremont Street, which can bring out the gambler in many. The Beauty Bar and The Griffin provide a hipster oasis just east on Fremont Street. If you get bored, just hop in a cab, city bus, car or shuttle to the rest of the strip or whatever else you have in mind.
The pools at the Golden Nugget really set this venue apart, with multiple levels of water. You’ll be surrounded by a shark tank that includes a water slide that pases right through the tank! The way that the buildings are laid out ensures that there is always shade to escape the hot summer Las Vegas sun. If you’ve never tried Fremont Street, trust us- this is the place for young adults.
