Ghouls, goblins, princesses, and super heroes invaded Knotts Berry Farm, October 6th , for the opening of “Camp Spooky.” This annual event caters to children 3- 11 years of age, and offers many special Halloween-themed activities in addition to their regular rides and games.
When you arrive your kids will be given a bag and a map for the “Spookie Ookie Scavenger Hunt”- a fun trick or treating adventure through Camp Snoopy. At each of the 5 stands your kids will be “treated” with candy. Don’t worry if you have impatient kids, the trick or treating stands are very easy to find. I found them purely by accident without using the map.
Take some time to explore the “Creepy Crawly Critter Cave” and check out the weird bugs and spiders that lurk inside. If you have any questions, be sure to ask the knowledgeable expert on site! Once through the cave you can check out “The Great Pumpkin Hay Bale Maze”. Peanuts themed, of course, this simple maze is very toddler friendly so even the little ones can get in on the fun.
For a nice change of pace (and a chance to rest!) visit “Scary Stories at the Lodge” where you will be delighted with the funny, creepy, and mystifying stories spun by talented storytellers. If you’re looking for something a little more musical be sure to catch the “Peanuts Halloween Spooktacular” where you watch the Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus sing and dance to their favorite Halloween songs. Even parents will be singing along to “Time Warp”, “Monster Mash”, and “Witch Doctor”, plus the storyline has classic Peanuts lines like “I got a rock” and “The Great Pumpkin”.
End your day with “Snoopys Costume Contest & Parade”. The first weekend it was held at 3:45pm, but be sure to check your 
schedule for accurate times. This is a fun Halloween event that focuses on the non-scare aspect of Halloween so even the youngest child can have a good time!
