Hootenanny 2012 was set to be one of the best concerts of the year. They kept adding and adding to their amazing line up and the show
just looked like it would be nothing short of amazing. Of course, there was no way this fest was going to be anything but spectacular considering that the prolific band, Rancid, was going to be playing. All in all, Hootenanny lived up to its hype and provided everyone who attended a great time.
There really was something for everyone there. The car show, which featured classic hot rods and even some rat rods, really gave everyone some great eye candy whenever they wanted to take a break from the amazing music. In fact, there were even awards handed out to the Hot Rods that won “best in show”, and there was even a trophy, with a dead rat, for the best Rat Rod. That was definitely something in itself to behold. The cars were really something else and were just another awesome addition to the already amazing Hootenanny.
The music itself was, of course, the centerpiece for the entire event. All of the artists seemed to have an amazing time and the energy was always going strong. In fact, during Super Sucker’s the sound went completely out, and they still managed to entertain the thousands of people in attendance. Also, Gretsch Guitars were giving away two signed guitars, one by The Reverend Horton Heat and the other from Rancid. Two lucky folks got to win those and boy were they excited. Every band from SuperSuckers, the Growlers, Reverend Horton Heat, and Rancid played their hearts out and put on a great show. The Reverend got an amazing reception, as he always seems to get at Hootenanny, and Rancid made the place go wild. Once they took the stage no one could control themselves and it was all
out awesome!
