Heat Music Festival 2012 is coming to UCR on March 3 with a lineup featuring The Airborne Toxic Event, Mac Miller, Major Lazer, Chiddy Bang, Iration, Karmin, Fei-Fei and Secret Panda Society!
Spring Splash at UCR
The annual music festival is organized and promoted by the hard working students in the UC Riverside Associated Students Program Board (ASPB). In addition to promoting HEAT every winter, ASPB also promotes the annual Spring Splash (check here for our photo review of the 2011 show) in the spring and Block Party in the fall.

The event is held near the bell tower at UCR. A 21+ beer garden is to be expected, though it closes earlier than you might think. Concertgoers are also advised to bring a jacket, as the show will go until midnight and the air will get cold. On the food end of things, Spring Splash had plenty of great food trucks.
In 2010, Heat played host to the likes of Steve Aoki and Crystal Method.
As Heat announced on Facebook, tickets go on sale Wednesday, February 8, 2012. UCR Student with ID get one free ticket. Every student can buy UCR Affiliate Tickets for $27.00. The UCR Alumni Association will have special ticket prices as well.
If you don’t have an in at UCR, you’ll be purchasing a General Admission ticket for $42.50. Kudos to UCR for opening up these concerts to the public! The IE needs more great events like this, and young folks, alum, and just music-loving locals should have access to these amazing music festivals.
