Escape from Wonderland 2011 Review / Pics – October 30, 2011

Insomniac returned to NOS Fairgrounds again with a packed house of So Cal electronic music fans for the Halloween themed Escape from Wonderland- a first for Insomniac and yet another sold out event.

Afrojack stage set at Escape from Wonderland 2011We’ve got the pics below of Afrojack, Benny Benassi, Steve Angello, Halloween costumes, haunted mazes, the pumpkin patch and more! The sound, lights and stages were all top-notch. We also ran into the guys from, who we recommend for all of your in-depth music coverage on Escape from Wonderland.

Haunted Maze 5 at Escape from Wonderland 2011The event also featured two mazes to excite your senses. We thought Alice’s House of Horror was a long, very well-executed maze with impressive monsters and optical illusions. This matches up with all of the best haunted attactions we’ve found in So Cal. The Looking Glass was unique for its 3D elements (they provide the glasses), but was too short and took a while to get up and going.

Fans 3 at Escape from Wonderland 2011

Our only complaint was that all of the entrances were on the east side of the venue, though much of the parking available was on the west, north and south side.

We’d also like to see  more local vendors at these type of events, with many of the vendors coming from LA. This site features some of the best in the region, such as the Gourmet Pizza Shoppe from Redlands. That being said, we met numerous concert-goers pumping large sums of money into the local hotel and restaurant economy outside of the event. Kudos to Insomniac for bringing big bucks to the region.

Raggedy Ann at Escape from Wonderland 2011A little warning: buy your tickets officially. We met a couple of locals from Fontana who told us they were signed up as staff. When they tried to walk in, security busted them and their fake wristbands so quickly it made us blink!

We’re nearly certain this will become an annual event for Insomniac, so be sure to get your tickets early next year!
