Dia de los Muertos Celebration 2011 – Riverside

While many of us are packing the Halloween decorations and the costume is going back in the closet , the Fall celebrations are not over yet as the Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Celebration in Downtown Riverside is finally upon us.  This Wednesday, November 2 between Orange and Lemons Streets on Mission Inn from 6 – 9 pm you can take part in this incredible celebration of culture and family.

Join thousands of others in sharing their remembrance  of lost loved ones through not only beautiful altars, music and artwork, but also in stunning  dance exhibitions that can not be missed.  There is plenty of commerce as well, as food and crafts are available for sale.

If you are nearby I really recommend attending this.  It is really a unique experience and a great way to interact with your community in a way that celebrates cultural tradition through encounters that demand interaction and reflection.

The Salted Pig will also be offering $2 street tacos, $7 Pozole/soup of the day, $3 Ranchero tequila shots and $5 Kah tequila shots all day long,

The event is completely free to attend and is sponsored and hosted by the Division 9 Gallery and The Riverside Metropolitan Museum.
