Corona: Mach 1 Mud Run & The Great Taste

Update: Mach 1 Mud Run 2012 information now online here!

Saturday June 4, 2011 plan to spend your entire day in Corona.  Start off at the Corona Airport for the first annual Mach 1 Mud Run.  After you hose-off, kick your feet up and relax, head to Corona Pointe (off Magnolia/I-15) for The Great Taste and gain back all the calories you lost in the morning!

Mach 1 Mud Run:$50 per person. Approx 3 miles. Corona Municipal Airport.  Race begins at 10:00 a.m. (there will be several waves).  Obstacles, mud pits, and a lot of hilarious moments.  Also, a BEER GARDEN and LIVE MUSIC.

This isn’t as intimidating as it sounds.  Just be ready to get really dirty, laugh a lot, get good exercise – and maybe try something you’ve never done before.  Best if you bring friends – because who wants to slop in the mud by themselves?  If you don’t feel like running, it is free to come and listen to the music, join the beer garden (bring your ID) and watch the festivities.  These types of races are becoming increasingly popular, so it’s good to see one coming to the Inland Empire – and also featuring a little-known corner of Corona.

The Great Taste: 5:00-8:00 p.m. $20 advance ticket purchase (contact Yolanda Carrillo for advance tickets).  $25 day-of-event.

What makes Great Taste so special? You can chow-down until the sun goes down (and beyond) on Corona’s best restaurants. Last year’s participants included: RA Sushi, TAPS Fish House & Brewery, King’s Fish House, BJ’s, TGI Friday’s, Lone Star Steakhouse, Macaroni Grill, Chik-Fil-A, and the list goes on!  The outdoor atmosphere is great and everyone is in a good mood (I wonder why?)!  The best part is, the proceeds support the Corona Police Community Partnership and the Corona Fire Safety Foundation.

So, come make a day of it and kick-off your summer in Corona!
