Blackalicious @ UCR, Yost Theater Santa Ana

Anyone who’s been to a hip hop show knows how fun they can be, but seeing Blackalicious live is an experience everyone should have before they die.

Consisting of Gift of Gab on the microphone and Chief Xcel behind the ones and twos, Blackalicious are one of hip hop’s most lyrically flexible and beat twisting duos to visit the Inland Empire. Gift of Gab’s a big guy, and his ability to rap at a supersonic pace will likely blow your mind. For proof, check out Alphabet Aerobics (with more than 900,000 views on youtube).

And now this NorCal rap/hip hop duo is set to play Riverside on Wednesday, Feb. 13 as part of UCR’s 2013 Winter Barn Concert Series on Wednesday nights. If you can’t swing that show on a weeknight, they play the following Friday, Feb. 15, at the Yost Theater in Orange County. Act fast before tickets sell out.

Every hip hop fan should see Blackalicious at least once. Gift of Gab’s fast rapping ability competes with hip hop heavyweights like Busta Rhymes, Twista, and that white dude who raps while cooking pancakes, aka MacLethal.
