BIG BOY and FUZZY (of Los Angeles’ number one Hip Hop Station POWER 106) and GUERILLA UNION (the promoters behind world-class events such as ROCK THE BELLS FESTIVAL SERIES and SMOKEOUT FESTIVAL) have just announced the launch of BIG BOY’S BLOCK PARTY. The first annual event has locked in performances by LUPE FIASCO, BIG SEAN, EARL SWEATSHIRT, HIT BOY and TAYF3RD.
Chang Weisberg, founder of Guerilla Union, expresses his excitement: “I have known Big Boy and Fuzzy since 1998 when they supported my early career in music. It is absolutely an honor to help them with launching their first annual Big Boy’s Block Party. Their love for live Hip Hop is incredible. Guerilla Union in association with Live Nation are glad that this historic event will happen at the world famous Palladium in Hollywood, CA. Lupe Fiasco, Big Sean, Earl Sweatshirt, Hit Boy, and Tayf3rd make for an amazing talent line-up that features the bleeding edge of today’s cream-of-the-crop lyricists and MC’s. Big Boy and Fuzzy have curated a world class concert that we are proud to be a part of.”
Big Boy adds: “We are excited to finally get this project off the ground. Fuzzy and I have been talking about this for so many years. Big Boy’s Block Party will be an annual concert that will help us spread our support for quality live Hip Hop. We have been working with so many incredible artists over the years and we have always wanted to bring them together to celebrate all the wonderful moments that we have created with Big Boy’s Neighborhood. We hope to establish this first in our own backyard and eventually take it on the road and support live Hip Hop in all our syndicated markets. I’m excited that we are able to partner with Guerilla Union as well. With myself, Fuzzy, and Chang as partners, we feel like we got the dream team to make this event successful for many years to come.”
BIG BOY’S BLOCK PARTY will take place on October 17, 2012 at the Hollywood Palladium in CA. Tickets are available for pre-sale to those with the promotional password starting Friday, August 24th at 10am until 10pm.
